Our meeting agenda on the January 16, 2007 at 7:30 should include a study of the Emmitsburg Water Supply Capacity Management Plan (EWSCMP) plan since water supply is of such concern by Carroll County and of course to Emmitsburg and possible growth.

This has huge implications on the Emmitsburg APFO that the Commissioners are working on and also huge implications for Planning and Zoning and the County Planning Update for the Thurmont regional plan.

Could either of you get a copy of the Emmitsburg Water Supply Capacity Management Plan (EWSCMP)? Could you report to the Water Committee a summary of the status and contents of the EWSCMP? On Wednesday January 17th the water committee could then report via Water Commissioners comments, at the Town Meeting to the Commissioners.

Emmitsburg is under a consent decree and must submit a State Mandated Plan for water supply by November 2005. The Town is now over a year late in completing and releasing the very specific water study that is Mandated by the MDE.
