First stanza from the Catholic Mass for Easter 2007.

“Christ the Lord is risen today, Alleluia”

Father O’Malley talked about the importance of water in the Bible; from Moses parting the Red Sea to the healing water of Jesus.

Water had to be one of the most treasured commodities in the ancient world. Thus the use of water for baptism, the total immersion conversion of Baptist’s in rivers, holy water, and so still water is important to developing communities both in foreign lands and locally in Emmitsburg too.
Water in the body has been likened to sea water or the chemicals in our blood are as varied as chemicals in the oceans.

So clean water is prized, venerated, desired, allocated, metered, bottled, wasted and in this modern world the most precious commodity of all; for without water life could not exist.
I found this poem on Ken Jennings blog that seemed appropriate for Easter.
